    Urea is the final result of the metabolism of proteins; it is formed in the liver from its destruction. Elevated urea levels can appear in blood (uremia) in diets with excess of proteins, renal disease, heart failure, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, dehydration or renal obstruction.

  • Intended use:

    The Cypress Diagnostics kit Urea is an in vitro diagnostic medical device intended to be used for the quantitative measurement of urea in human serum or plasma. The device is not automated. The measurement of urea is intended to be used for the evaluation of kidney function as part of a routine health check-up (screening), as an aid in diagnosis of kidney disease and for the monitoring of the effectiveness of dialysis. This kit is intended to be used by healthcare professionals in a laboratory-based testing environment.
