Do you know the modified Sampson equation?
The modified Sampson equation
The updated formula for improved accuracy for LDL-Cholesterol.
If you are measuring LDL-Cholesterol or using the Friedewald equation, this article is relevant to you as it proposes a better alternative.
If you are measuring LDL-Cholesterol or using the Friedewald equation, this article is relevant to you as it proposes a better alternative: the modified Sampson equation.
The modified Sampson equation uses the classic lipid panel inputs (Total Cholesterol, HDL-Cholesterol, and Triglycerides) but delivers better results for patients with LDL-Cholesterol below 70 mg/dL.
Check the article and consider calculating LDL-Cholesterol values in your lab.
