Cypress Diagnostics and LABONET Guinée Unite 50+ Professionals Around Laboratory Quality

On Tuesday 19 May 2026, Cypress Diagnostics and its Guinean distribution partner LABONET E.B.M Guinée jointly organised a scientific workshop at the Hôtel Palm Camayenne in Conakry, under the theme: "The Importance of Quality Control in the Biomedical Analysis Laboratory".

The event brought together more than fifty laboratory professionals — lab technicians and department heads — from clinics, hospitals and private laboratories across the Guinean capital. It was the first large-scale scientific gathering jointly organised by the two partners, reflecting over fifteen years of shared commitment to raising the standard of in vitro diagnostics in Guinea.

Programme highlights

The afternoon was opened by Dr. Djibril Diallo, Director General of LABONET Guinée, who welcomed guests and framed the event within a broader ambition: equipping Guinean health professionals with the knowledge and tools to deliver reliable, reproducible diagnostic results every day.

The CEO of Cypress Diagnostics then delivered the main presentation, covering the theoretical foundations of laboratory quality control, the role of external quality assessment, and the concrete impact of well-implemented QC programs on patient safety and clinical decision-making.

A second presentation by Mr. Woppa Bah addressed the current organisation of quality control in Guinea — its progress, its challenges, and the practical steps laboratories can take to move toward internationally recognised standards.

Both sessions were followed by open Q&A, giving participants the opportunity to engage directly and share their own experience in the field.
